Few jazz artists have had such a huge influence on so many musicians as John Coltrane has. Not only was he technically and improvisationally ahead of his time, but his compositions have also influenced the way many would compose and explore.
In this book, you may now explore methodically and more important aurally, how you can master improvising over a number of John Coltrane’s compositions.
The book presents a series of exercises that are more than just technical, but are designed also to expand your ears and learn to hear the chord progressions more intimately so that you can use the techniques in compositions other than Coltrane’s.
Along with these exercises you’ll get plenty of Jazz Etudes (Improv Etudes) to help you learn to play over the following compositions from John Coltrane :

- “Countdown”
- “26-2″
- “Fifth House”
- and “Satellite”
The book is available for all treble clef instruments and the Jazz etudes are written for C, Bb, and Eb instruments.
